Franz Schubert - 'Notturno' Movie Trailer (Unofficial)
Просмотров 36 тыс.15 лет назад
My first video editing effort with moving images. I selected scenes from the brilliant Schubert film 'Notturno', and blended them with Schubert's 'Andante Sostenuto' from his Sonata in B flat D. 960. Despite the desperate and melancholic mood so typical for Schubert's final years, I hope you enjoy the video.

23:45 - Syphilis is by no means invariably fatal. Many patients survived it, among them Schubert's friend Schober.

It's totally misleading to include the phrase "Manuscript 1826" which implies that this waltz was written down in that year by Schubert (who died in 1828). In fact, of course, it wasn't committed to paper until over a century later!

This is a great video. You have selected the D960 second movement as background music, which is very appropriate. I take note of your selected social scenes (where Schubert entertained his friends) which show Schubert's isolation from his friends. And the humiliation from his father in the classroom, whom he desperately wants to reconcile with (his written Mein Traum) Even on his deathbed, he writes a letter to his best? friend Schober, who does not even pay him a visit. So sad.

Schubert of course his phrases that may resemble those by other composers that preceded him... but he builds a different and more complex affective structure to them... which is so unique. This shows that Music maybe mathematical in its basis... but it goes way deeper and wider than any other human endeavor
